Our Ministry
Standing on the deck of the Hardie Retreat Center, you realize you are witnessing the awesomeness of God as you look at the beauty of Claytor Lake and the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding it. If your church or ministry-related group needs time away or a place for retreat, consider the Hardie Retreat Center, a ministry of Blacksburg Baptist Church.
Amenities
The Hardie Retreat Center features four suites. Each suite sleeps eight in two bedrooms with two queen bed, two bunk beds, and one connecting bathroom. There is a counselor bedroom with a queen-sized bed and private bathroom. Bedspreads are provided, but please bring sheets and pillows.
The retreat center has central heat and air conditioning. There is a full service kitchen, but bring menu specific cookware, such as griddle, crock pot, etc.
We are 10 minutes from Claytor Lake State Park and adjacent to the Baptist Association Camp. The Baptist Association Camp has a dock and picnic area, which may be used if not reserved by another church.
Rental Rates and Deposit
Daily rental rate is based on the number of people per group. The current rate is $12 per person per day. There is a minimum 2-night charge of $125 (reservation fee included) for each group of 5 or less.
Church groups are charged a non-refundable reservation fee of $25, which must be received within 7 days of making the reservation. All groups are required to pay a $50 damage deposit. If no damage is sustained, the deposit is refunded. All groups are responsible for paying the full amount of damages incurred during their stay and will be billed for damages exceeding the deposit

Directions
From I-81 North or South, take Exit 98 (Dublin/Newbern). Follow 100 South for 1⁄2 mile and then turn left onto Hance Road. At the stop sign, turn left onto Wilderness Road. Travel 0.3 miles and turn right at the Wilderness Road Museum onto Towes Ferry Road. Follow this road for 1.6 miles to the driveway on the left at the top of the hill. You will be able to park in front of the gate.
