Local Missions

Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry
BBC's local missions start with the Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry housed in a BBC owned building adjacent to the church.  Here, those in need in the New River Valley can find food items that will sustain them and nourish them at times when they aren't able to do so themselves.  BBC members offer financial support, monetary donations, and their time to see to it that the hungry in our own backyards are served.
Hearts and Hammers
Their is always some work that needs to be done in our local community.  From building decks to raking leaves to shoveling snow to repairing roofs, BBC members serve members of our local community who, for whatever reason, cannot get these things done themselves, and our members love to do so!
BCM at VT and College Ministry
The Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Virginia Tech is sponsored in part by BBC.  One of its assistant directors is supported in part by BBC, and several of its participants worship on a regular basis at BBC.  The College Ministry at BBC helps to see to it that the college students are taken care of during their first time away from family.  Students are engaged in activities, Bible studies, trips, and fellowship.  Additionally, BBC sponsors students in summer missions experiences that have ranged from Tennessee to Africa to Central America.
Mission Trips
Each year the Adult Ministry sponsors a mission trip in Appalachia to repair houses, give hair cuts, do MOPS programs, or anything else that the skills of the team members can provide.  Additionally, the youth ministry takes the young people of the church to new places where they have the opportunity to share the love of Christ.  This past summer, the youth ventured to New York City.
