Mission Journeys
Spring Break Missions - 2011 TBA
Spring 2010, 15 students traveled to Orlando to learn about ministry to the poor, the neglected and abused, and the homeless. We had a great time of reflection, personal growth, and fellowship - working with Habitat for Humanity, Coalition for the Homeless, and Christian Service Center. Stay tuned for next year's 2011 Spring Break Mission announcement.
BCM/VBMB Projects: The Baptist Collegiate Ministry on campus offers a variety of mission journeys, especially during Spring Break. They are partnered with the Virginia Baptist Mission Board (www.vbmb.org) of which Blacksburg Baptist Church is also affiliated. The mission journeys offered are both in and out of country. Missions Funding: A limited amount of mission funds may be available for national and international missions. Contact Brian or Angie at blacksburgbaptistcollege@yahoo.com for an application and/or assistance.
- Applicant must be a regular attendee of BBC and have shown leadership in church ministries.
- Applicant, if awarded, must be willing to give a pre- and post- report about their mission to the ministries and/or bible studies classes where support was received.
BBC College Ministry and other givers in the church have helped to fund individual mission journeys to South Africa, Panama, Boston, Appalachia, and Kenya among others.
